Laos Tour: Luangsay Cruise Downstream - 3 days

DAY 1: HOUEI XAI - PAKBENG
Meet upon arrival at Houei Xay immigration checkpoint and transfer to the boat pier. The Luang Say boat leaves Huay Xai pier at 9.00am for a cruise down the Mekong River to Pakbeng. You will have a stop en route to visit an ethnic village for local interaction and to learn about local life with typical culture and tradition. A buffet lunch is served on board. Arrive in Pakbeng before sunset and check in at the Luang Say Lodge. Pakbeng is a rustic town with a tranquil laid back vibe dominated by wooden houses along a steep street on the hillside overlooking to the Mekong River. Relax and watch the sunset on the Mekong River from your balcony. Dinner on the terrace, overlooking the Mekong River. (L,D)


DAY 2: PAKBENG – KAMU LODGE 

For early riser, an optional activity of taking a short walk to visit Pakbeng market is available at your disposal. Here you will see minority people from the surrounding villages gather to sell and by their goods. 
A continental breakfast is served at the lodge from 7.00AM. At 8.00AM the boat leaves Pakbeng for the second leg of the cruise. You will have a stop at Ban Baw village to observe the processing of traditional rice alcohol, called lao lao. Lunch is served aboard whilst you continue your cruise to Kamu Village. Arrive in the Kamu Lodge at around 2.00PM. This is a beautiful lodge built amidst and in a perfect harmony with fascinating surrounding nature. This afternoon is free at your leisure to go around to visit nearby villages for interaction and spend your time to join in with locals for very original Lao experiences like farming, gold panning in Mekong River or enjoy fishing with traditional fishing techniques in the Mekong. Dinner and overnight at the Kamu Lodge. (B, L, D)


DAY 3: KAMU LODGE – LUANG PRABANG

After breakfast, just relax or spend some time to wander around the village of Kamu. You will then board the Kamu Riverboat to cruise towards the former Royal capital of Luang Prabang. You will have a stop at Pak Ou to visit the sacred caves of Tham Ting and Tham Phoum. These are magnificent caves on the right side of the Mekong River that are carved out of towering limestone cliffs and contain thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues ranging from a few centimeters to the size of a human. The caves are as well a destination for local pilgrimages, especially during the Lao New Year period of Pii Mai. The boat arrives in Luang Prabang at lunch time. Lunch is served in a restaurant in Luang Pranbang. End of service. (B,L)

  2. Laos has so many tourist attraction points that people must should visit during their trip. It is rich of natural beauty and it is also known as mountainous and landlocked. It's Vieng Xai caves is very interesting place to visit then Wat Phu temple, Pha That Luang is most significant monument in Laos are also very attractive places to visit.
