Hanoi Tends to Develop the Old Quarter into the Tourism Center.Tourism experts  believe that In order to attract more and more tourists from in domestic as well as a board, Hanoi should focus on developing the old quarter in Hoan Kiem District into the Tourism Center of cultural tourism, shopping and entertainment. 

Beside historical remains, traditional village, Hanoi now has many other advantage on  values of architecture, human culture, and beverage. Hoan Kiem District has 188 historical and cultural monuments located mainly in the old quarter area. The town is also well –known for old houses built in the tube form with deep brown tile roofs, the narrow and short streets, which is opposite with the busy of purchasing.

People who live in the old town of 36 streets have elegant life also attract interest of many travelers.

The district has recently focused on using the electric bus system for tourism, opening walking streets for weekends. However, there is still some limit remained and the old town has not really  attracted travelers.

In plant for period from now on 2016, Hanoi and Hoan Kiem District will focus on developing the old quarter in particular and the district in general into a tourism center of the capital. The District also strives to achieve incoming  from trade and tourism accounted for  97 – 98% total of district’s economy.

To gain this target, the district will cooperate with Vietnam Tourism in upgrading the infrastructure, the system of monuments, restoring some traditional professions, organizing more typical tours on old town in order to promote tourism.
